PATIENT TESTIMONIALS
With osteoarthritis in both shoulders, I went looking for a specialist for total replacement surgery. Uncertain where to turn, I booked replacement surgery for my left shoulder with another surgeon. Despite my expressed desire for an anatomic replacement---I am in my sixties with a sufficiently good rotator cuff, quite active, and hoping to remain so---the surgeon had scheduled me for a reverse replacement. I canceled the surgery and, after doing my research more carefully, I contacted Dr. Blaine’s office. Lucky for me! Dr. Blaine would take the anatomic approach, and I was additionally pleased to learn the surgery would be bone-preserving through use of the catalyst implant. Flo and Veronica were extremely helpful with logistical tasks prior to surgery for this out-of-stater. Samantha Greene (PA) was amazingly patient and pleasant when answering my numerous questions. Now a little over one year out from surgery, the new shoulder is fantastic, with remarkably good range of motion. I am very fortunate to have found a surgeon with Dr. Blaine’s talents and expertise. Needless to say, I will be scheduling replacement surgery with Dr. Blaine for my right shoulder. All my thanks to Dr. Blaine, Samantha and his staff for making such a wonderful outcome a reality.

I fractured my right elbow in 2005, and for 15 years I was told by numerous orthopedic surgeons that I just needed to learn to live with it. In 2020 it started to effect my work (I am a bass player), so my husband and I decided to look for the best elbow surgeon in the country and our search lead us to Dr. Blaine.
Right from the start it was very different. Dr. Blaine and the staff just seemed to care more. He did not inflate our expectations -- he was very clear that it was likely he could only make it "80% better." But at that point it was bad enough that sometimes I could not play for several days, so we decided to go through with the surgery.
During the surgery, Dr. Blaine found and fixed some additional problems that we did not know existed (a stretched ligament). A nurse told us later that because my job required an abnormal amount of right-hand finger dexterity, Dr. Blaine was careful to test the nerves to those fingers throughout the surgery to make extra certain they were not damaged.
Today, 1 1/2 years after the surgery, my elbow is 100% better. It is stronger than my "good" elbow. I no longer experience any pain in it while I'm working or any time at all.
Even without these results -- even if we'd only achieved 60% improvement or the 80% improvement he described I would still be very, very satisfied and I would recommend him to anyone.

My mother in-law was referred to Dr. Blaine for shoulder pain. She wound up needing to have surgery on her R shoulder. Dr. Blaine was very thorough and made my mother in-law feel very at ease and she went through with the surgery, very successfully. The experience she and I had with the office, and the staff was very pleasant. We had multiple questions and concerns and contacted the office often and spoke with Florence (Flo), and Erin the Physician Assistant many times, they always answered our questions and return our calls very promptly. They treated my mother in-law with the best of care and really made her feel at ease. The experience she had, and I had as her advocate were excellent. Truly a great office and staff, and wonderful surgeon.
