CONDITIONS & TREATMENTS

SHOULDER
Common shoulder injuries include rotator cuff tears, labral tears, instability, and impingement, often caused by trauma or overuse. Symptoms like pain, weakness, and limited movement can be treated with physical therapy or, in more severe cases, surgical options such as arthroscopic repair or shoulder replacement. Accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment are key to restoring function.

ELBOW
Elbow injuries, such as tendonitis (tennis or golfer’s elbow), ligament tears, fractures, and dislocations, are often caused by overuse, trauma, or degenerative conditions. Symptoms include pain, stiffness, and limited mobility. Treatment options range from rest and physical therapy to surgical intervention, including ligament reconstruction and fracture repair. Early diagnosis and proper treatment are crucial for optimal recovery.

KNEE
Knee pain is a common condition affecting individuals of various age groups.
Common knee injuries include sprains, tendonitis, meniscal tears, and ligament tears, often resulting from overuse, impact, or improper technique. Symptoms like pain, swelling, and reduced mobility can vary in severity. Treatment ranges from rest and rehabilitation to surgical repair, depending on the injury. Prompt diagnosis and appropriate care are essential for a safe return to activity and long-term joint health.

Viscosupplementation: “Hyaluronic acid injections can be used to treat osteoarthritis in many major joints, including the knee and the shoulder. This treatment is called viscosupplementation. The gel-like substance is administered with one to five injections (depending on the product) into the osteoarthritic joint. It takes up to two months to see the full effect of the treatment. These injections can be repeated as early as every six months. The potential mechanisms of action include lubricant effects, anabolic effects, chondral protective effects, and anti-inflammatory effects. Side effects can include minor local reaction at the injection site. Rarely, acute swelling can occur, which must be evaluated for possible infection.”
